A Waterford man has handed over cheques totaling €16,000 to six Waterford charities and care providers.
Frank Quinlan completed 21 half-marathons in 21 days all within 2km of his home in Hilview.
He set himself the challenge to raise awareness about the benefits of exercise on mental health and to raise vital funds for local charities and those working on the frontline.
Frank and his son Dylan spent a day this week visiting the organisations and presenting each with a cheque.
The €3,000 donated to the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospital Waterford will be used for the Move Your Mood programme.
@FrankQuinlan1 thank you so much for this amazing contribution to our mental health inpatient unit which will provide opportunities to improve service user experience and aid integration of #physicalactivity in #mentalheath @thomas_mccabe1 what an addition for circuits! 🙌
