Homes, gardens, workplaces and Irish embassies across the world were lit up last night to honour everyone affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
President Michael D Higgins and Sabina Higgins joined the initiative to remember the people who have died, those who are sick and to recognise the frontline workers.

Here in Waterford Dungarvan artist Sinead Hehir created an illuminated lantern sculpture as a tribute.
Waterford Fire Service showed their support for their fellow frontline workers.
Neighbours across Waterford City and County joined in, lighting candles and sending messages of solidarity.
