Over €2,500 has been raised in a GoFundMe campaign online so far for a baby girl from Waterford.

Baby Cadhla underwent her second open heart surgery just before Christmas, despite not even being a year old yet.

Stacey Collins gave birth to Cadhla in June of 2022 and shortly after birth she was diagnosed with a number of complex conditions, including heart disease, which required her to undergo open heart surgery at just four weeks old.

Unfortunately, that didn't go as smoothly as they hoped and Cadhla suffered a stroke which caused brain damage and epilepsy.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched last summer to help with the costs at that stage.

And now, Cadhla has undergone her second open heart surgery and her mother has launched another fundraising campaign, as she says the bills are continuing to mount.

In posting this latest GoFundMe, Stacey says her baby is the strongest little girl she knows but she does require 24/7 care.

She has at least three more surgeries in the next couple of months and an Instagram account called Cadhla's Journey has also been set up for people to follow her story.
