The South East Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) were called into action yesterday as they were tasked with assisting a lost walker in Cruachan Woods in Waterford.
The callout was made at 6.03pm with the cold and wet walker located an hour later at 7.24pm.
The walker was located after a search of forestry tracks and the casualty was brought to a nearby vehicle which brought the casualty down off the hill.
The callout was SEMRA's 50th of 2021, making it their busiest year since their formation in 1977.
Earlier in the day, SEMRA were tasked with a callout Bansha Woods in Tipperary at 16:15. A walker suffered a suspected hip injury.
While SEMRA were en route, the walker was evacuated by 4x4 by a member of the public. They were then transferred to the National Ambulance Service.
