The search for a man who fell overboard from a yacht off the Waterford coast has ended.

It was launched late on Saturday night, covering an area of up to 70 square nautical miles south of Dunmore East.

The search team included Coast Guard helicopters and RNLI lifeboats, along with an aeroplane from the UK Coast Guard.

A spokesperson for the Department of Transport says it has concluded the operation following a comprehensive search coordinated by the Coast Guard Marine Rescue Coordination Centre in Dublin.

No further information is available at this time.
