A section of the seafront wall at the Strand in Dunmore East has been damaged following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gardaí responded to the incident at approximately 2:00 am, where a vehicle was found to have collided with the wall. The male driver, in his late teens, was uninjured in the crash.
The collision has caused structural damage to the wall, and as a precaution, access to the beach remains restricted this morning while assessments and repair works are arranged.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
