A Waterford primary school has received the green light for a two-storey extension.
Scoil Mhuire in Abbeyside, Dungarvan will proceed with the works to the existing building.
Permission was requested in January to construct a two-story extension with alterations to the side of the existing school building.
In addition, a single-storey extension will be built to the rear of the existing school.
The existing single-story buildings on site will be demolished.
The site itself is located within the Zone of Archaeological Potential in Dungarvan.
Therefore, the Department of Housing, Local Government, and Engineering has recommended an archaeological impact assessment be undertaken.
