Sales of Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber's shopping vouchers have reached one point five million euro - surpassing the Chamber's one million euro target.
Chamber President Oren Byrne paid tribute to all who have supported the voucher scheme all year round.
"Throughout 2023, we witnessed steady monthly purchases, highlighting that our vouchers aren't just a seasonal trend during Christmas but remain relevant year-round," she said.
"We've noticed a trend of online purchases from overseas, making these vouchers a convenient and thoughtful gifting choice. Moreover, grandparents have increasingly opted for Chamber vouchers as the top pick for grandchildren of all ages. The overwhelming support from employers and their employees in favouring Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber vouchers has been tremendous. It's truly heartening to see the entire community come together in support."
Oren told WLR News that the variety offered by the vouchers proves popular especially at Christmas.
"Almost every retailer in the town accepts the Chamber vouchers," she explained.
Oren added that Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber has enjoyed a remarkable year overall.
"We were named Chamber of the Year in Ireland which was a phenomenal achievement considering we're quite a small chamber in the overall scheme of things," she said.
