Metropolitan Mayor Joe Kelly believes Transport Minister Eamon Ryan’s stance on Waterford Airport has resulted in the poor results for the Green Party locally.

Waterford TD Marc O Cathasaigh is polling poorly according to the latest tallies.

Asked by presenter Damien Tiernan if Eamon Ryan’s position on the future of the Airport ‘put the nail in the coffin’ for the Greens, Cllr Kelly agreed.

He said the issue had been a huge talking point in doorsteps across the city and county.
