Ryanair has suspended all flights to, from and within Italy until April 8th.
The decision was made after the Italian Government put the country on lock down to contain the spread of Covid-19.
This morning's Ryanair flight from Dublin to Milan had just 16 passengers on board, while this afternoon's flight from Milan to Dublin had just 11 seats filled.
Italy is on complete lock down, with all citizens told to stay at home.
This morning the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs upgraded its travel advice, warning citizens to avoid travelling to any part of the country.
Many passengers have taken the advice seriously, with 173 people booked to fly from Dublin to Rome this morning, and just 23 boarding the plane.
From midnight on Friday, Ryanair will suspend all flights to and from Italy, while all internal flights will cease from midnight tonight.
All affected passengers have been notified. Passengers looking to fly out of Italy can move to an earlier flight free of charge.
A choice of a full refund or travel credit will be offered to all passengers.
