A series of road closures have been announced ahead of the Waterford Viking Marathon which takes place this coming Sunday, June 23rd.
Closures include:
O'Connell Street from Vulcan Street to Thomas Hill and Hanover Street from Saturday June 22nd at 4pm until Sunday, June 23rd.
On Sunday, June 23rd, closures will also be observed on:
The Mall (6am until 10:30am)
Bridge Street (8am until 3pm)
Also 8am until 3pm: Bridge Street, Bilberry Road, Grattan Quay, Suir Street, Mary Street, Dyehouse Lane, Penrose Lane, Thomas Street, Thomas Hill/ Meeting House Lane to the Quay.
From 10am until 2pm: the following closures will be observed- Lissahane from Carrolls Cross, Ardeenloun Crossing from N25 Cork Road to Greenway Crossing, Carrickanure Road Cork Road to the Greenway Crossing.
While the following roads will not be closed, there will be Outbound Lane closures:
On the Quay to Tower Hotel to Rice Bridge from 8am until 10am:
Parade Quay, Custom House Quay, Coal Quay, Meagher's Quay, and Merchant's Quay, and Outbound Lanes from Rice Bridge in the direction of the N25.
From 8am until 11am: Sallypark to Newrath Road and from Newrath Roundabout at Grannagh and onto the N25.
Outbound Lane Closures will also be seen in County Kilkenny from 8am until 10:30am:
A lane of the outbound carraigeway of the R448 from Sallypark to Newrath Roundabout and a lane of the outbound carraigeway of the R861 from Newrath Roundabout to Roundabout No.12 at Grannagh and onto the N25 roundabout.
