Emergency services responded to reports of a person in distress in the River Suir last night.
A multi-service effort saw Waterford City River Rescue, Waterford City Fire Service, Rescue 117, the National Ambulance Service, the Irish Coast Guard, and Gardaí respond to the call.
An extensive search of the area was carried out last night.
The person was located safe and well on land.
Emergency services have reiterated the importance of an early call in the event of incidents involving water.
