Gardaí have issued a renewed appeal for information in relation to the robbery and assault of a vulnerable man which occurred in Waterford City last week.

As reported by WLR on Friday, an iPhone and wallet were robbed from a man during the incident in The Folly area on Thursday last between 10.10pm and 10.30pm.

Over €200 was taken from the man who is non-verbal.

He suffered serious injuries to his face and swelling to his eyes, ear and forehead.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact them.

They are particularly interested in obtaining information on a tall, slim man, possibly aged between 20 and 30 who was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit and hoodie.

It’s believed this man may have been with two to three other men.
