A Status Yellow rainfall warning has been issued for Waterford, Cork and Kerry by Met Éireann.
The warning, which comes into effect at 1am on Monday night, will remain in place until 3pm on Monday afternoon.
The forecaster has predicted heavy showers of rain while the warning is in place, marking a stark change in weather conditions from earlier this week.
Drivers are being warned of treacherous travelling conditions, while there is also a potential for localised flooding.
