A "kind-hearted woman" and the ISPCA have managed to save puppies that had been left in a Waterford forest.
Recently, thirteen puppies were abandoned in a cement bag in a Waterford woodland, where, fortunately, a mother and her kids discovered them.
The family heard "squealing from deep within the forest" when they were hiking, and they tracked the cries to find the collie pups.
Sadly, only eight puppies were discovered alive; five of the puppies had already passed away.
The puppies still had their "umbilical cords partially attached" when the mother called the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) to alert them to the emergency.
n the care of ISPCA Donegal, Kildare, Carlow SPCA, and West Wicklow SPCA, the puppies are now improving daily and are being cared for in pairs.
You are able to contact the rehoming coordinator, Laura, at 043 3325035 or send an email to [email protected] if you want to offer your home to one of the puppies, or another animal.
