In 2021, 1,260 residential properties were sold in Waterford.
That's according to the latest CSO Report, which broke down the characteristics of property purchasers in each electoral area.
Waterford City East accounted for the highest number of residential sales in the county, with an average of 290.
120 of those were purchased by an individual, while the remaining 170 were joint sales.
Lismore had the lowest number of sales with just 90, 50 of which were by a couple.
In terms of price, Waterford City East was the most expensive place to buy. The average home price there was 250,000 euro, with couples spending roughly 20,000 euro more.
The average age of those buying residential properties in the county was 43. People buying alone tended to be slightly older, with an avergae age of 46.
