Events began today to kick start the countdown to the eagerly awaited Solas Cancer Support Centre Run and Walk for Life 2025.

A very special project got underway this morning at Kilmurrin Cove on Waterford’s Copper Coast involving the team from the Solas Cancer Support Centre; Run and Walk for Life sponsors UPMC Whitfield; plus other volunteers and supporters of the Centre.

The result of today’s ambitious project will be revealed next week to coincide with the official launch of October’s Run and Walk for Life.

Event theme

A special announcement will be made in relation to this year’s event theme as part of next week’s launch, as Manager of the Solas Cancer Support Centre Tracy McDaid outlines.

“This year’s event will focus on a very specific theme which it’s hoped will kick start conversations in homes and workplaces right across Waterford,” she said.

“Our theme this year has been very carefully selected and the project undertaken today has this year’s theme at its core.”

T-shirt twist

Next week’s launch will also bring a special announcement in relation to the Run and Walk for Life t-shirts which have become a must have collectors item each year.

“The bright orange t-shirts are synonymous with the Solas Cancer Support Centre Run and Walk for Life each year, and will be again for 2025, but we will be revealing an additional twist which we’re hugely excited about,” added Tracy.

Full details of this year’s event will be revealed next Tuesday July 29th.

WLR, proud media partner for the Solas Cancer Support Centre Run and Walk for Life again this year, will bring you all of the details plus a special focus on this year’s important theme.
