Judges are on the way to Portlaw this week to tour the town and meet The Portlaw Task Force.
The community organisation has been chosen to represent Waterford in this year's National Pride of Place Awards.
For the past three years the volunteers in the Co Waterford town have been trying to put 'unity back into the community'.
They do this by organising small events, like Easter Bunny Hunts, to bring people together and by trying to enhance the area visually and socially.
Clodagh Duggan one of committe members Portlaw Task Force, says a judge will be in the village on Friday August 18th.
They'll bring him to the new community hub Clodagh House, Woodlock House, the Heritage Centre and Curraghmore Estate and also give him a presentation on projects they've completed.
Clodagh says a competition will run this week to encourage homes and businesses to look their best ahead of Friday's judging. With a prize of vouchers for Glanbia Country Life up for grabs.
