A hugely popular County Waterford walkway has been shortlisted for a national award.
The Crough Wood walkway at Mahon Bridge is one of three projects shortlisted in the Community Woodland category for the RDS Irish Forest and Woodland Awards.
Declan Mulhearne is Chairman of the Comeragh Community Development Group which spearheaded the project and he told WLR the group members are thrilled with the recognition.
He says the amenity has grown in popularity in recent years and there have been a number of other local developments.
“There’s a new car park which is usually full at weekends and a number of new small businesses have opened,” he explained. “It’s all positive.”
The awards ceremony will be held in Dublin April.
