Planning has been received for a new residential development in Lemybrien.
The plan includes the construction of 2 two-bedroom single-storey homes, 6 three-bedroom single-storey homes, 3 storey-and-a-half four-bedroom houses, and 5 two-storey four-bedroom homes.
In addition, 3 fully serviced sites will be provided for future housing.
The project also includes all associated site works, as well as upgrades to public services and infrastructure to support the development.
The government has set a target to deliver 41,000 new homes in 2025, an increase from the previous target of 34,600 under the “Housing for All” plan.
Ireland saw the completion of 32,695 new homes in 2023, marking the highest annual delivery in 15 years and surpassing the Housing for All target by nearly 13% according to gov.ie.
In the first quarter of 2024, construction commenced on nearly 12,000 new homes—a 63% increase compared to the same period in 2023, setting a record for Q1 since 2014.
A decision on the Lemybrien development is due back by July 3rd.
