Swedish retailer IKEA has submitted a planning application to Waterford City and County Council.

The application from IKEA Ireland Ltd. is at pre-validation stage and relates to the former Mum N Me, Tramore Road Business Park, Tramore Road, Priorsknock, Waterford.

As reported by WLR earlier this month, Mum N Me announced its closure after 14 years of trading.

The application seeks amendments to the shopfront and the erection of external tenant illuminated signage fronting the Tramore Road.

Submissions on the application can be made by May 21st with a decision due by June 11th.
