Conditional planning permission has been granted for a major residential development on the Cork Road in Waterford City.
The development by Monaco Developments (Tramore) Ltd. is located in the area of the former Waterford Crystal Sports and Leisure Centre site and consists of 292 residential units.
The units are comprised of 6 two-storey four bedroom detached and semi-detached houses; 160 two-storey three bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced houses; four three-storey apartment blocks consisting of 60 two-bedroom duplex apartment units; and a five storey apartment block comprised of 66 Age Friendly apartments.
Also included is a standalone single-storey creche building and external play area.
Vehicular access is provided from Ballybeg Drive and provision is made for pedestrian and cycle connections to Ballybeg Drive, Clonard Park and the Cork Road and the future phase two development site.
The development involves the demolition of an existing single-storey bungalow at ‘Comeragh’, Cork Road.
There are 25 conditions attached to Waterford Council's decision.
