Part of a well-known Tramore hospitality premises could soon change use, following the submission of a new planning application to Waterford City and County Council.

The Esquire Bar and Restaurant Tramore planning applicationproposes converting part of the building from bar and restaurant use into residential accommodation.

Applicant Paul Horan lodged the application on December 12, outlining plans to change the use of part of the ground floor from commercial to residential.

The proposal also includes internal construction works on both the ground and first floors to create a self-contained dwelling unit within the existing building.

The plans provide for front elevational changes, including the installation of a new front door and windows.

Developers also intend to carry out alterations to the rear first-floor balcony, along with a number of associated site works.

Waterford City and County Council will assess the application in the coming weeks, with a decision due by February 14.
