A worldwide initiative to get people out running on a Saturday morning is being extended to Waterford city.
Park Run started back in 2004 when 13 runners got together in Teddington, in the UK for a run.
There are now over 3 million members all over the world who take part in weekly 5km and 2km runs.
There's already a very successful route in Tramore with the Waterford City run starting from the RSC from the 31st of this month.
Matt Shields, Park Run Ireland Country Manager explains how you can get involved: "You register at www.parkrun.ie. Once you register then you'll get an email by return with a personal barcode and you print that out and that barcode then becomes your entry into any Park run event world wide for all time. So any time you go along to a Park run in Australia or the UK or anywhere in Ireland you just bring the barcode along. When you finish its scanned and you will get an email result to tell you how you've done and what progress you have made."
