More than 500 people in Waterford are unable to work due to the effects of Long Covid.
That's according to figures obtained by Roscommon-Galway TD Denis Naughten.
He's calling on the government to treat the surge in Long Covid patients with the same urgency as the initial Covid-19 infections.
Nationally, almost 21,500 people are off work because of the virus - 528 of whom are in Waterford.

It comes as an Irish study has found that people with Long Covid can suffer as many as 33 different symptoms.
