
An outdoor recovery and wellness area is being proposed for a rugby club in Waterford.
A planning application has been submitted with Waterford City and County Council seeking to construct the amenity at Waterpark Rugby Club, Lower Maypark Lane, Ballinakill in Waterford.
The application, in the name of Pierce Kavanagh seeks the provision of an outdoor recovery and wellness area to include a prefabricated timber framed wood burning sauna to accommodate 8-10 people, two outdoor cold plunge ice baths, three outdoor cold showers, an outdoor relaxation area, a prefabricated timber framed cabin to accommodate a check-in office, plus male and female changing rooms.
The proposed amenity is bounded by a two metre high charred black Nordic spruce hit and miss timber fence on all sides and the application also includes all associated site works.
The application was lodged with the local authority on July 11th and submissions can be made until August 14th.
A decision is expected by September 4th.
