Gardai and multiple fire services units are dealing with a major oil spill in Waterford City.

The spill covers a 5 kilometre route between the Cleaboy Roundabout along the Outer Ring Road to the Farronshoneen Roundabout.

Waterford Fire Service say all roads affected have been treated but the material will take time to absorb.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution.
