There was a 45 per cent decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases confirmed in Waterford last week.
That's according to the latest release from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
864 new cases were diagnosed in Waterford between the 10th and 16th of January.
That's down from a high of 1,599 cases the previous week (from the 3rd to 9th of January).
The 7-day incidence rate in Waterford last week was 743.7 cases per 100,000 people. The national rate at the time was 529 per 100,000 people.
The age profile of cases in Waterford has increased, the median age was 47 last week, up from 39 the week before.
