A full suite of directions are expected from the Director of Public Prosecutions within two weeks in the case of a man charged with the murder of a Tramore woman.

34-year-old Marcus O’Neill of O’Brien Street Waterford appeared today, Tuesday March 25th, before Waterford District Court.

Mr. O’Neill has been held on remand in Cloverhill Prison since his arrest on suspicion of the murder of Gillian Curran.

Sergeant Hickey from Waterford Garda Station informed the court that the DPP have had the full file of evidence for two weeks, and that no directions have yet been received by the court.

These are expected within the next two weeks.

Represented by solicitor Ken Cunningham, Marcus O’Neill was ordered by Judge Kevin Staunton to be remanded in continuing custody until April 8th when he will again appear via videolink.

It is anticipated that the DPP directions in relation to the case will be available at that stage.
