No decision on Waterford Airport extension until February

Plans to extend the runway at Waterford Airport have been delayed by at least three months.

Waterford Council and Waterford Regional Airport are seeking approval from An Bord Pleanala to extend the runway to 2,287 metres.

They submitted an application on the 10th of July.

A decision was due to be handed down today however, that has now been pushed back until the 26th of February, 2021.

The previous government approved €5 million in funding for the project with the remainder coming from private investors.
