The Government’s new Infrastructure Action Plan aimed at speeding up critical infrastructure projects nationwide, will deliver for Waterford.
Those are the views of Minister of State and Waterford Fine Gael TD John Cummins.
Officials say the plan streamlines planning approvals, cuts red tape, and removes barriers that delay construction.
Fine Gael Minister John Cummins said the plan will support families, commuters, and businesses in Waterford.
“This plan will cut months and years off the time it takes to deliver homes, water treatment plants, roads, and other essential projects,” he added.
The national plan also includes emergency legislation to fast-track approvals and limit judicial reviews, helping projects in Waterford move forward.
Andrew Brownlee, CEO of the Construction Industry Federation, welcomed the initiative but called for clear project timelines.
Saying: “Construction companies in Waterford need certainty to scale operations and deliver,”
Housing delivery, transport upgrades, and improved public services are central to the plan’s goals.
By providing a roadmap for project implementation, the plan will help Waterford communities access new homes, better roads, and modern infrastructure efficiently.
Experts say the combination of funding, legislative support, and project clarity will strengthen Waterford’s economy and quality of life
