The N25 is now the most dangerous road in Ireland with over 20 fatal collisions in the past five years.
The road, which lies through the heart of Waterford, Cork and Wexford had the most fatalities of any Irish road between January 2017 and September of this year.
The N25 extends 185 kilometres from the Dunkettle interchange into West Waterford and on through Waterford City along to Rosslare Europort, with a number of accident blackspots along the route.
22 people have lost their lives on the N25 in this period, six more than any other Irish road - the next being the N2 between Dublin and Tyrone which has been the scene of 16 fatalities.
Two roads servicing Waterford are among Ireland's five most dangerous - with twelve people also losing their lives on the N24 between Waterford and Limerick in the last five years.
767 people have died on Irish roads since the start of 2017, according to figures obtained by the Irish Mirror.
Nine Irish roads were the scene of at least ten fatalities in the past five years. Thirteen people lost their lives on the N15 and N21 respectively, 12 people have died in collisions along the N24 between Waterford and Limerick as well as the N5 and M1 respectively - and 11 people have passed away following collisions on the N4. Ten people have also died on the N20 since 2016.
