Four men were hospitalised as a result of a three car collision on a section of the N25 in Waterford earlier today.
The collision occurred between Killineen East and Garranbane at approximately 3:30pm.
The accident, involving one car and two vans, saw emergency services and an air ambulance tasked to the scene immediately - resulting in a road closure for a number of hours.
Three men, believed to be aged in their 80s, 70s and 60s were taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries.
Another man, who is believed to have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident, was taken to Cork University Hospital - his injuries are also believed to be serious, but non-life threatening.
