
Gardaí have commenced a murder investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in Carrick-on-Suir on Monday last.
Ian Walsh (49), a former Irish Rail, worker was found unresponsive at the property on the Cregg Road at 3.30am.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out by the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr. Yvonne McCarthy, and preliminary results have been provided to the investigation team.
In a statement, Gardaí say these details are not being released for operational reasons.
Following the post-mortem, An Garda Síochána has now commenced a murder investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information related to this incident to come forward, including any road users who were in the area of Cregg Road, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, between 8pm on Friday 1st August, and 3.30am on Monday 4th August.
Additionally, anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and was traveling in the area at the time is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
