The family-run Mulligan’s Pharmacy group is set to take over and continue the only pharmacy service in Kilmacthomas. It's as Jenny Kirwan of Kirwan’s Pharmacy retires. It will be located at the same premises on Main Street.
The new Mulligans will provide over-the-counter services along with "Click and Collect". It will also stock health, beauty, wellbeing and cosmetic brands.
Commenting on the news, Jenny Kirwan, who's retiring after running Kirwans Pharmacy since 1987 says
I am delighted to have Mulligan’s Pharmacy continue the provision of vital pharmacy services to the area. I have considered the future of this business very carefully and I know that the family-run, Mulligan’s Pharmacy group will continue to provide an excellent level of care and service for the people of Kilmacthomas village and the wider region.
Jenny added that she wished to express thanks to her loyal customers over the years and she wishes Ronan Mulligan and all of the team the very best wishes for their future in Kilmacthomas.
Director of the Mulligan Pharmacy Group, Ronan Mulligan says, "We are very much looking forward to continuing to support and offer pharmacy services to the people of Kilmacthomas and beyond. The last 18 months have really brought home to us all just how important it is to have vital business services within our own communities.
"We are also pleased to announce that we will be adding some of our additional services along with our lifestyle and wellness brands, the Blue Club loyalty program as well as a Click and Collect offering from our very popular e-commerce site to all our customers at the Kilmacthomas store," he added.
Mulligan’s Pharmacy group now has 18 stores across Waterford, Kilkenny and South Tipperary. It was first established by Jim and Sheila Mulligan in 1957 when they opened a pharmacy at George’s Street in Waterford City. The group now employs 225 people across the region.
The new store in Kilmacthomas will continue to open six days per week and further details can be found through the Mulligans website.
