People are being advised to avoid The Prom area in Tramore due to the aftermath of Storm Kathleen.

Speaking to WLR News, local Fine Gael Councillor Lola O'Sullivan urged motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area.

A Status Orange wind warning for Waterford, Cork and Kerry ended at 2pm.

However, an Orange warning for Galway and Mayo remains in place until 6pm while a nationwide Yellow alert is in place until 8pm.

According to the ESB, over 12,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without power across the country this evening.
