
Ahead of Friday’s vote, the Electoral Commission has published the Presidential Election Register figures and count information.
As the race for Áras an Uachtaráin enters its final stages, candidates are making the final push for votes.
Fine Gael candidate Heather Humphreys is visiting counties Cork and Clare today, while Independent Catherine Connolly is in Cavan, Monaghan and Westmeath.
Both candidates participated in the final TV debate of the campaign last night, on RTÉ’s Prime Time.
Figures provided by the Electoral Commission for Waterford show a total of 90, 411 people are eligible to vote in Waterford which represents 71 per cent of the population in the city and county.
Eligibility to vote
To be eligible to vote, you must be: an Irish citizen, aged 18 or over, registered to vote, and ordinarily resident in Ireland.
Polls open on Friday at 7am and close at 10pm. WLR will provide live updates from polling stations across the city and county throughout the day.
Counting in Waterford will take place at SETU Arena on Saturday, and will be overseen by Returning Officer Michelle O’Connell.

The result will be announced at a national level at the Dublin Castle Central Count Centre.
