Gardaí have issued a renewed appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 17‑year‑old Eric Miangwe, who has been missing from the Templars Hall area of Waterford City since Tuesday, 27 January 2026.

Eric is described as approximately 5ft 10in tall, with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. Gardaí say he is known to spend time in the Ashbourne and Dunboyne areas of Co. Meath.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about Eric’s movements or current whereabouts to come forward.

Members of the public can contact Waterford Garda Station at 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

A photograph of Eric has been made available to media outlets through the An Garda Síochána Missing Persons Facebook page.

Gardaí emphasise that this image is provided strictly to assist the ongoing investigation and must not be used for any other purpose.

As Eric is a minor, Gardaí have also highlighted the relevance of Section 31(1) of the Child Care Act 1991, which restricts the publication of material that could identify a child involved in certain legal proceedings.
