A memorial Mass will be held this weekend in memory of a County Waterford resident who was found dead at her home at the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains earlier this year.

In late January, Zilia Peterkin, was discovered at her home at Furraleigh, Mahon Bridge where she lived alone.

Ms Peterkin was not originally from the area, and had no known relatives in the area, so efforts commenced to identify her next of kin.

As reported by WLR in February, Gardaí assisting the Coroner, identified and located a relative in this jurisdiction.

A Mass will take place to honour and commemorate the life of Ms Peterkin on Sunday.

A notice for the Mass describes her as “a woman who touched the world in quiet and unseen ways”.

The service will take place on Sunday June 8th at 2pm in St Brigid’s Church, Kilrossanty.

The notices adds that “all are welcome to join in paying tribute to her life. May she rest in peace.”
