Memorial Day for Ashling Murphy

The memorial day is being organised by the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund. It is to celebrate “the life and legacy of Ashling,” the organisers have highlighted. It will take place on December 6th in the Bridge Shopping Centre in Tullamore, from 10 am to 5 pm. Live music will be played, as a mark of respect, which will highlight the Offaly woman’s involvement with Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Éireann. A Gaeltacht scholarship funded through the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund will also be announced. The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund was set up in January 2023 in her memory. The aim is to provide funds to groups in the traditional Irish arts, culture and heritage sector. The organisation has established three scholarships in her memory.
