The annual Mayor’s Ball took place in the Tower Hotel, Waterford on Saturday, April 27th.

The beneficiaries of this year’s event were The Arch Club Tramore/Waterford, Aiséirí Waterford, Cystic Fibrosis Waterford, and the Waterford-Tramore unit of the Order of Malta.

The auction on the night, which saw the sale of beautiful artwork, a signed Irish rugby jersey and tickets to a show of Waterford’s homegrown talent Moncrieff, to name a few, raised €22,500.  With further contributions to the beneficiaries made through donations, sponsorships and the sale of tickets the overall monies raised was €43,500.  With over 250 people in attendance, it proved to be a great night.

Mayor of Waterford City and County Cllr Joe Conway was delighted with the success of the event, saying “This was a particular highlight of my mayoralty, as so many worthy charities benefitted from the generosity of the people of Waterford.

“I’d like to thank everyone who helped in the organisation of this great event, and in particular, Cha O’Neill for his invaluable knowledge and expertise in making the Mayor’s Ball a huge success every year for the last 22 years.”
