St Patrick's Hospital, St Carthage House, St Martins Special School, and Cheshire Waterford have been announced as the beneficiaries of the 2023 Mayor's Ball.
The official launch of the Ball took place this afternoon.
Representatives from the charities and organisations as well as the Ball sponsors J.P. O'Donohoe were present.
Speaking to WLR News following the launch, Mayor of Waterford City and County Council, John O'Leary, says he is excited for the next Ball.
"These are four amazing charities and I as Mayor am delighted to be able to support them for the coming year," he said.
He added that almost everyone in Waterford either knows someone or has been themselves helped by these organisations.
"Some member of their family, some relation maybe throughout the years have been touched by them," he said.
Councillor O'Leary himself is one of those people.
At the launch, he shared that his daughter is living happily in one of the Cheshire Homes.
Since the Ball started over 20 years ago, it has raised over €1.4 million.
Councillor O'Leary said that he has attended every year because he saw the contribution it makes to the county.
The 22nd Mayor's Ball is set to take place on April 22nd next year.
