Gardaí in Waterford are investigating after a man in his 60s was seriously assaulted in St Herblain park on the outskirts of the city last night.
The alleged stabbing incident took place at a house at around 7:30pm.
The man in his 60’s was taken to University Hospital Waterford to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A man in his 20’s was arrested in relation to the incident and was taken to Waterford Garda Station.

He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
