
Gardaí in Waterford are investigating after a man was robbed at knifepoint in the city centre overnight.
The incident occurred at approximately 3am this morning (Monday) on John’s Lane in the city.
Gardaí say the man was approached by a black suspect who held a knife to his throat and demanded money. The victim handed over the contents of his wallet.
Gardaí say the suspect, along with two other black males and one white female, ran from the laneway and got into a black Audi saloon which was parked on Manor Street.
The vehicle departed in the direction of Parnell Street.
Any witnesses, especially taxi drivers who may have been in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage, are asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051-305300.
