A man who died in a drowning accident in Tramore last Sunday, July 9 has been named.
49-year-old Ernesto Ventura with an address in Waterford city was swimming with a female companion in the Guillamene.
Both swimmers got into difficulty in the water and rescue attempts were made by members of the public and emergency services.
The 49-year-old man was later pronounced dead in University Hospital Waterford.

The woman was transferred to UHW where she received treatment for her injuries.
