A man in his 40s has died in a single vehicle accident on the Waterford to Dublin motorway this morning.
The accident happened at around 8am on the M9 southbound, just after the Knocktopher exit.
Gardai are investigating and the scene is due to be examined by Garda Forensic Investigators.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Waterford Hospital.

The road is closed southbound until around 3pm and local diversions are in place
