Gardaí are investigating a fatal house fire in Clonmel that broke out on Sunday evening.

Emergency services arrived at a home in Carrigeen shortly after 6pm and found a man in his 70s, who died at the scene.

They removed his body to University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

Gardaí have sealed off the property for a technical examination as they continue to investigate the fatal house fire in Clonmel.
