Investigations are ongoing following an assault which took place in Waterford City in the early hours of this morning, March 18th.

Gardaí responded to a call on John Street at approximately 02:30am.

A man in his 20s was conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

It is understood that a blade was used during the course of the incident.

No arrests have been made, and Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051-305300.
