A man in his 70s has died in a house fire in Waterford city overnight.
The fire, which broke out shortly before 5am in Ballytruckle Court, was attended by Waterford Gardai and local fire services.
The body of a man in his late 70s was removed from the house and taken to University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Foul play is not suspected at this time and Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious.
