A man is in critical condition in University Hospital Waterford following a two-vehicle collision which occurred earlier today, July 9th.

At approximately 7.15pm, a crash occurred between a car and a motorcycle near the Cullencastle area of Tramore.

Emergency services attended the scene and a male in his 50s was transferred to University Hospital Waterford. His injuries are believed to be significant.

The road was closed for technical examination and remains closed. As of this morning July 10, the area remains closed from both the Glen Road side near Pickardstown, and from the Monvoy area, meaning the Cullencastle cross is not accessible from any route. Commuters should make other arrangements when planning their route to work.
